Dear Winter,
Okay seriously. You know how much I love you... hello! But when your fun times are over and go away, so should you. Are you trying to prove something? I mean, you already broke the snow total record many storms ago. Last year at this time, the traces of you were barely seen, even up in the mountains. People were hiking, camping, enjoying spring. This year? I'm starting to wonder if Spring is actually coming. The mountain looks like it did in February. And where is the warmth? At this rate, the floods won't even come until June. And speaking of coming late. We'll be lucky if we can camp and hike by the fourth of July. My annual gondola trail hike around my birthday? Maybe in snowshoes.
Now I know you like to throw in a few late season storms. But completely holding off Spring? Come on! I just took off my snow tires! Think of the poor little flowers waiting to make appearances! And the elkies can't migrate on the mountain when you keep dumping snow up there. Don't even get me started on my flip flops and summer dresses.
You'll normally come back into our lives at the end of September, and a month or two later you are settled in for good. So can't you be somewhat reasonable and maybe give us just 3 months without you? I don't think seasons are supposed to last 9 months. Give the other 3 seasons a chance at least!
Last, this blog is about Powder. Not slush and mud! So either give us want we want, or go away.
