One Click`

And with one click of a button, I have officially quit Facebook. I never even signed up for it actually. One my friends in college signed me up and told me if I didn't manage the account, she was going to do it. And knowing her, she would've made it much more interesting than I really am. It actually was slightly useful in college, since it was still only a college networking site. But then they got greedy and myspace-y, and let everyone in, adding more and more junk along the way. I've seen a lot of people waste a lot of time on myspace, and I refused to ever get into that, or even act like that on facebook. So when it comes down to it, was facebook really helping me? Was it something I could justify spending even seconds of my day on? No. The people I really care about I stay in contact with in other ways. And some people say it helps them reconnect to people from their past, but if those people were really important, why did they lose touch to begin with? Facebook is absolutely pointless to me. Its a time waster, energy waster, and these social networking sites seem to be causing more harm than help in the lives of everyone I know. The girls have given me an interesting look at what the life of teenagers is like right now, and myspace is one of the biggest dominating forces in the lives of most teens, and it really sickens me to even try to wrap my brain around that concept. I'm constantly reminded that I'm supposed to be an example to the girls, so here it goes, life without a social networking site. I doubt it will even alter my social life. If at some point somebody can give me a good reason to actually have facebook again, then maybe I will, but I doubt that will ever happen.
