Olympics!

My high school graduation present was a little different than most... it was a trip to the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. And oh man, was it the best trip of my life. It's hard to even describe the vibe of being at the Olympics... where the best of the best are there to fight it out for the ultimate prize. Well, after that trip with Pops, we decided we would try to go to any other Olympics in North America. And 2010 is in Vancouver. After lots of planning and analyzing schedules and maps and junk, I finally put in our ticket request. Holy moly that's one big credit card authorization, but it's worth it! In case I haven't told you a million times, we stood next to Danny Kass' family at the first ever snowboarding Olympic event, in which USA took all the medals. There I was chatting it up with his aunt who was mostly trying to make sure we didn't try to take over their "spot" right on the fence. To this day Danny Kass is still probably my favorite rider (and he makes some kick ass videos and has a crazy reality show on Fuel). Yes, it will be hard to top that, but we sure as hell are going to try.

The whole ticket thing is a lottery, so now I just have to sit and wait, hoping the Olympics gods bring me good luck and good times. Stay tuned.... we should get word on what tickets we got in early-mid December.
